Meet Pepperberry Foods
Welcome to the Amarante & Barbera Family
At the heart of our family are Mary Catherine (“Gram”) and Mary Grace, creators of our cherished Famous Freselles recipe—passed down through three generations. No Amarante or Barbera family meal was complete without freselles, Italian cheese, and a bowl of Meneste soup.
In 2010, Maddie Barbera joined the family and began reimagining Gram’s classic recipe, adding her own peppercorn blends and Calabrian spice. By 2022, she proudly brought our family’s famous freselles to market under the name Pepperberry Foods, inspired by the California Pepper tree—bold, bright, and full of flavor, just like our recipes.
